So the more I think about it, the more I want to make the ballistic shield. I think it would really be simple. Like Brandon said, it could be as simple as PVC construction. I think that the use of a ballistic shield in a presidential escort game would be awesome. It could give one guy the job of shielding the president. Here's a site with some dimensions. Anyone have any cool ideas? www.interamer.com/ballisticShields.htm

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballistic_shieldMost typically rate to the III-A standards (nearly all pistol rounds) while fewer, usually the wheel mounted ones rate to III (rifle rounds) and IV(High-powered rifle rounds). If we're going to do it, we may need to set out some rules for it. Obviously any man-portable shield wouldn't stand up for very long against any of the real versions of the guns we field. All depends on how we want to stretch the believability here for added tactical requirement.

www.wiairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?3438-Airsoft-Ballistic-Shield-home-madethe problem is addressed here. looks like the solution to the penetration problem is to use cardboard. that way there is a good chance that at a distance (75ft or so) it will stop the shot. but at less than like 50ft it will penetrate with just about any rifle. then it just boils down to the honor system if you get hit with a slow bb that made it through but that guys looks like shit so we need to paint it and cut the window in it
