My order should be arriving today. I've been told and read that propane can be used instead of green gas in most guns with use of a propane adapter (for the bottle, not the mag). I bought a nice metal adapter on amazon for $25 (a bit pricey but I didn't want the plastic one) Have any of you guys used propane and if so how do you go about using the silicone oil? (I guess I'll find some at loews)

Good timing! There's a game palnned this Sunday. (I'll post details in the games section) I've personaly only used green gas and co2, but I know that Tom has used propane. From what I've gathered you get the same performance, but save money in the long run by using propane. So the propane adapter was a wise choice. I think I heard Tom say before that silicone is readily available at hardware stores, but all you really do with the oil is put a few drops in the adapter to lube the gun. I wouldn't put any gas in the gun without it though, the blowback needs to keep lubricated or you can risk damaging the gun.

I think I remember Ray mentioning he used both Propane and Green Gas in some ratio to get the Lubrication from the GG and the Savings from the propane. What I had planned with my 1911 was similar; keeping both GG and CO2 mags with me so I don't need a spare can of lube outside of cleaning the barrels.
