found some fun facts on orange tips. they are not technically required by any states. only when being imported/exported from the country. so feel free to remove if you so chose. but it is always a good idea to have it just in case.
"American federal laws require minimum 6 mm (0.24 in) orange tips to be present on all "toy guns" (including airsoft replicas) while being transported within or imported into the United States. These brightly colored tips show the difference between real and replica firearms, which helps to ensure safety.[18] However, when playing on a private field, no orange tip is needed. In strict technicality, the Federal regulations do not specifically require the owner to keep the muzzle painted after acquiring their airsoft gun."
In some cases you can get away with not even shipping it with a tip if you have: "Coloration of the entire exterior surface of the device in white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink, or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern."

owning the gun: legal showing gun in public: not legal using gun on private property or public property with permission: legal when transporting treat like a real gun. keep unloaded in trunk or backseat (generally out of view)
for the most part just keep it out of sight of the general public and its fine. even though its legal people will still get scared and call the cops
